Season 19 episodes are coming soon
Continuing to dive into the world of NFTs, the World Tentative Clocher (WPT) has announced that it will work with Theta Labs to create a Web3-based seasonal pass for WPT broadcasts, billed as the first product of its kind. The 12-month WPT Season Pass will be on the Theta blockchain.
“We are proud to partner with Theta to offer users an entière way to access WPT Seasons 18 and 19 with the first numérique season pass powered by Theta Metachain,” WPT CEO Adam Pliska said in a recent press release. “WPT has always taken a forward-looking approach to using technology to interact with our users, and this is the next step in bringing more value to our objectif fans.”
The WPT Season Pass will be given to WPT NFT owners for free and will also be available for relevé on ThetaDrop. The Season 19 Pass will give holders the opportunity to watch episodes direct without commercials, including new episodes that will air weekly from December 2022 through February 2023.
We’re not sure of the fantaisiste relevé price of the WPT Season Pass, but there are currently eight on relevé on the ThetaDrop’s peer-to-peer market with prices ranging from $22 to $250.

Now, you might ask, “What’s the lieu?” And rest assured, I’ve been thinking the same thing, too. The idea behind converting this WPT subscription to the blockchain is to make the Season Pass fully transferable or sellable. So, if you buy a Season Pass and decide you won’t need it anymore, you can sell it on the blockchain to someone else and get some of your money back. Or, if the demand is somehow high, make a privilège (I can’t imagine the planchéier would be the case).
Not to go for “old man screaming in the cloud” or anything – after all, I own some NFTs myself – but this seems like a dénouement looking for a problem. Is the demand for a WPT season that big and having enough viewers that they need to be able to transfer ownership of their Season Pass for which the NFT Season Pass is necessary? Can? When I was an IT conseil, I would say, “Don’t use technology just to implement technology.” This seems like this kind of données.
If I purchased a Season Pass the old-fashioned way, I can always pass it on to someone by giving them my login journal, and ébranlé the mot de passe before doing so if it was a mot de passe I used with other accounts. If the email address ébranlé is allowed (no idea if that is the case), that would be better. The new setup seems too complicated. However, one claire thing is that ThetaDrop seems to accept US dollars, so people who don’t know anything embout crypto can purchase WPT Season Pass without ancêtre issues.
Of tour, there is a lot of overlap between hardcore va-tout enthusiasts (the people who will buy the WPT season pass) and crypto/blockchain enthusiasts, so it’s entirely passable for those who are interested in the season pass to love the idea of NFT and have no problems with the process.
